Another recording session has ended and three new songs have now been tracked completely and entirely. Burning Panties, Don’t Try and Take My Guns, and You Should Start a Band.

Despite the post title, the sessions did not involve necromancers or the invasion of a barbarian horde. Getting the tracks done has been tough though. We’ve been “through” with tracking a couple of times. We always had to come back and get another detail spot. But the results are golden.

I’m really proud of these new songs. There is a lyrical depth and richness that didn’t show up in the Space Punk Starlet tracks. The musicality has improved. The songs are interesting and, most of all, vast, epic, and catchy, like a london soccer team on Olympus. The words are coming very easily right now. I don’t know about the soccer player bit.
It’s rowdy. Here are some photos from Sunday and Monday at Danny Reisch’s studio:

Travis smashed various objects for each hit on Don’t Try and Take My Guns. He obliterated all manner of objects including glass, cedar wood, and small boxes (intended for seashells) with a 14 dollar steel hammer.
I don’t have pictures of that yet.
