Who said guitarists get to have all the fun?

Well, tracking piano was OFFICIALLY awesome today! No more pixie tones, this shit was for REAL. We were after some mean gritty madness for the jam out section in The Mountain Man and the Geologist- we found some. We ran Danny’s big old upright through a Fender Blender, TransMORGrifier, and Ampeg Bass head, compressed the hell out of it, and ended up with the wildest piano tone I’ve ever heard.
uh. yay!

Gun Shootin’ with Brett

wow this is fairly embarassing.

My BrooklynVegan debut..

Well, it’s not the Frontier Brothers ass-kissing write-up I’m (still) hoping for but Brooklyn’s uber-trend-maker/career-destroyer BrooklynVegan caught me digging on Dr. Dog at Governors Island. It was a rainy wild show, but Dr. Dog and Paperboy kicked major ass. Cool!

Headin’ to CMJ 2010!

It was a tough day in the studio today, guys. We’re not used to writing / arranging songs in the studio and that’s exactly what we had to do, limping our way through the third song of the session, “The Paramount.” But after a lot of experimentation and mean faces, we nailed it- I think it’s gonna be a great song. And here’s some exciting news- we’re heading back to CMJ for another showcase! We already have several NYC / Boston area shows planned- can’t wait to see all our friends (especially Black Taxi & FUCT).
